5K Runs

When hosting a 5K Run, putting safety measures in place is vital to ensuring that your run is successful. All groups hosting this type of event will be required to have insurance.

Please include your emergency plan with your outdoor space application which should include:

  1. Group must plan to have water stops along the route, and are encouraged to scout out water fountains already located on campus.
  2. As a safety precaution, it is encouraged that EMT or First Responders be present as volunteers.
  3. Its also encouraged that volunteers along the route have their cell phones and are able to give clear directions to their location should they need to call 911.
  4. Please see the sample waiver (located below) that may be used for your participants to ensure that they understand the risks involved in participating in the event.

Any changes to the 5K route (located below) will need to be approved by UMPD in order for the application to be approved.
